The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition 2017 will take place at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center from 20 to 23 March. More than 1500 international education professionals from 52 countries participated the event. The theme of this year’s conference is “New Era, New Horizon, New Frontier: Higher Education in Asia Pacific.”
Led by Vice-President Dr. Jui-Jen Chou, Prof. An-Pan Cherng, Director of Office of International Affairs and Division Head Ms. Tan-Wei Chang attended the conference representing National Ilan University. On the 2nd day of the event, Director Cherng and Ms. Chang met Prof. Kim Taewan, Dean of Office of International Affairs, Kangwon National University, Korea. KNU has established partnership with NIU since 2016 and the existing tie between our two universities strengthened through the meeting. Director Cherng also commenced a conversation with Ms. Denise A. Davis, Director of International Programs, University of California Irvine, USA, about possible future cooperation, hoping to send NIU students to UCI campus. NIU delegates will successively discuss with worldwide university delegates from Sweden, UK, France, Australia, Ireland, Canada and so on for creating international collaboration opportunities.
