The Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition 2017 was rounded off on March 20 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Led by Vice-President Dr. Jui-Jen Chou, Prof. An-Pan Cherng, Director of Office of International Affairs and Division Head Ms. Tan-Wei Chang attended the conference representing National Ilan University, expecting to improve NIU’s visibility and create opportunities for international cooperation and exchange.
In this conference, NIU delegates aimed to increase quality choices for students to study abroad, meeting with university delegates from Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. For example, NIU delegates discussed English courses with Mr. Simon Futo and Mr. David Ottaway from the Centre for Professional and Continuing Education of University of Adelaide, Australia, discussing education agreement with Ms. Caroline Enright and Ms. Karen Mortel from the Global Relations Office of Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. They also met with Ms. Joanne Y. Taira from Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs of University of Hawaii System, USA, and Mr. Alex Lei, President of State of Hawaii U.S.A. Taiwan Office in Taipei, discussing about student exchanges and so on. It was a truly fruitful conference for NIU, and we look forward to expanding NIU’s partnerships and the range of opportunities for students to study abroad.
